Yummy Candied Walnuts Recipe
I’ve been cooking and eating out a bit less lately, due to weddings, planning, job changes, etc., but I’m going to try my best to post more frequently! I was in North Fork Long Island this weekend for a friend’s bachelorette party, and I had a couple delicious salads with candied walnuts, so I thought I’d post my favorite candied walnut recipe. Candied walnuts make a GREAT addition to spinach salad (with sliced pears, gorganzola, and candid walnuts… yuummmm), but also taste great on pancakes or waffles in the morning! You can also add them to your yogurt or even store them to eat on their own as a snack. There are a few ways to make them, but this one is sweet and spicy and is by far my favorite! Spicy Candied Walnut Recipe 1/2 cup walnuts 3 tbsp maple syrup pinch of salt pinch of cayenne pepper
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees. Mix walnuts with syrup and spices. Seperate and lay on a baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes (until brown and bubbly). Make sure they don’t burn! Cool and store in an airtight container or add them to your favorite salad right away! (If you want them a little sweeter, sprinkle a little sugar on them after you remove them from the oven.)
